Qatar Aiways, Hamad International Airport (HIA) are joined Expo 2023 Doha official partners List
Qatar Airways and Hamad International Airport (HIA) will support Expo 2023 Doha, which is taking place from October 2, 2023 to March 28, 2024 in Al Bidda Park, as the official airline partner and strategic partner, respectively.
The Ministry of Municipality hosted an official signing ceremony between Expo 2023 Doha, Qatar Airways and HIA. This partnership will bring a significant milestone for the parties who will work together to elevate Expo 2023 Doha’s tourism potential.
In the presence of HE the Minister of Municipality Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie and Expo 2023 Doha Commissioner General ambassador Bader al-Dafa, Qatar Airways Group CEO HE Akbar al-Baker and Expo 2023 Doha Secretary General Mohamed Ali al-Khouri signed the first agreement. The second agreement was signed by al-Khouri and HIA chief operating officer engineer Badr Mohamed al-Meer.
Qatar Airways will support Expo 2023 Doha as its official airline partner while promoting the event as a must-visit attraction for all travellers and business visitors from the region and across the world.
Al-Baker noted that Qatar Airways is pleased to join hands with Expo 2023 Doha while bringing in a boost to the tourism sector of Qatar.
“A number of significant events taking place in Qatar in 2023 build upon our investment in infrastructure and our hospitality industry in order to offer more specialised tourism, world class sporting activities including the Geneva International Motor Show and the Formula 1 Grand Prix.
“The Expo 2023 Doha Qatar is a key international addition to the calendar and will see a major focus on Climate Change. I am delighted to announce that Qatar Airways will be a leading sponsor, which will see the airline promote the Expo and encourage visitors through compelling travel packages,” al-Baker noted.

Al-Meer noted that as the main entry point for travellers, HIA aims to offer passengers arriving in Qatar an unmatched airport experience and seamless connectivity to the city of Doha and the event.
Al-Khouri described both Qatar Airways and HIA as the key drivers of the country’s travel and tourism industry. “Tourism attractiveness will be one of the Expo 2023 Doha central pillars. With an exciting entertainment offering to visitors of all ages – including kids and families – Expo will become the country’s main highlight between the end of 2023 and early 2024,” he said.
Expo 2023 Doha will be the first A1 International Horticultural Exhibition to be held in Qatar, the Middle East, and North Africa. Organized by the Ministry of Municipality, the event aims to attract over 3mn visitors.
